Listener and Musician Promos
Would you like to add some pizzaz to TGBCast? Send a voicemail introducing the show to gingerbohemian@yahoo.com. All you have to do is say, "This is (name) from (location) and you're listening to the Ginger Bohemian podcast." We'd also love a few promos from musicians. Just change the (location) to (band name) and you're set!

Note: Please only provide your last name if you wish for it to be heard on the air.

Guest Co-Hosts
This is something I'm really looking forward to. If you're a musician who would like to be featured on the show and is also interested in spending some time online co-hosting a show with me, don't hesitate to ask! I would also love for co-hosts to choose a few songs to play during the show, so this is especially fun for those who want to try their hand at podcasting.

Lunch With...
My version of the interview. Whether in person or via Internet confernece call, Lunch With... will be a conversation with a musician or band about pretty much anything (music, touring, life in general). It will last for the duration of the show and will be a lot more relaxed than traditional hosting.

Listener Mail
Feel free to send messages to the show at gingerbohemian@yahoo.com.

Podcasting is as much a big deal as is copyright infringement! The last thing I want is to get into trouble for playing a song that I'm not allowed to play. Therefore, in order to appear on the show, musicians have to follow a few simple rules.

The easiest way for me to be able to play your stuff on the show is for you to become a member of the Podsafe Music Network. This entirely free service is a fantastic resource for bands and musicians. Whether you upload a few tracks or a whole CD, you make it easy for podcasters and music fans to find and download your music. Podcasters can download whatever music they choose and use it to create their shows. Listeners can browse and buy music as well. If you're interested in joining the Podsafe Music Network, send me a link to your page once you're set up. If you're already a member, send me the link to your page right now.

You do not have to do this if you don't want to. However, I will only accept music submissions from individuals who I know are representing their own music. If you have a MySpace, contact me on MySpace under your band's account. The same goes for your website. Contact me using your band's email address. I have to know that it's the actual band contacting me and not an impersonator. Also, please make sure that you're allowed to play your music on a podcast and that there aren't any restrictions in any contract you might have prohibiting you from doing so.

I'm trying to cover all of my bases here, and I think this process does a fairly good job. Also, I've said it before but it bears repeating, this podcast is a hobby and is in no way an attempt at making money.

Thank you for your subscriptions and interest and for making this podcast come to life.

The Ginger Bohemian Podcast, or whatever you choose to call it for short, is basically a show featuring really great music. Since I began listening to podcasts about a year ago I have wanted to create one of my own. My original concept was for a New England music podcast, featuring bands located in the US states of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Although I still plan on featuring New England based groups and artists, I eventually decided not to limit my choices by region.

Essentially, I play songs that I come across and absolutely adore. If I hear something and find myself listening to it multiple times, it goes into my folder of songs to play. I love music, and I want to share my musical discoveries with others. The Internet is a wonderful place for musicians to gain exposure, but even with the tools available to everyone success in the business can often be a difficult battle to win. I want to try and give great bands the exposure they deserve. Granted, my podcast may have thousands of subscribers, but even just a handful of listeners is better than nothing.

I find a great deal of music at the Podsafe Music Network. This service makes it easy for podcasters to find what they're looking for. If you're a musician looking for exposure, you should definitely check it out. If you'd like to be played on my show, the easiest way for me to play you is for you to be registered with them. I don't want to wind up infringing on any copyright laws. So upload some music to the Podsafe Music Network and then pass your band's page on to me. Your other option is to contact me via email or on MySpace from your band's email or MySpace profile. I have to know that I'm communicating directly with the artist.

Episode #1 will be online sometime tomorrow or late tonight! You can expect 5 awesome songs. By whom? It's a surprise. For the time being, it's a "bi-weekly" podcast. Episodes will air every other Monday. I don't see this changing in the near future, but if I really get into it I might have the time to make it a weekly thing.

This is a hobby. I'm not a professional. It's all in the name of fun and music.

The Ginger Boho,
Liz
